We meet and learn about your goals, objectives and needs. We use this meeting to learn more about your company, your target audience and discuss keywords and phrases to use through-out the development of your site.
It would be helpful for you to bring the following to your meeting:
- Information about your business
- Any examples of your communications you’ve been using
- examples of websites that you like and why
- a list of keywords and phrases that you know your clients will be searching for (we offer these services if needed)
- ftp connection info for your current hosting company
Information Architecture
We will create a structured outline of your site using wire frames. This process outlines the most sensible way to display your information.
Design, Writing and Development
Once the structure is decided, your wire frames and a brief will be sent to the designer and writer (if needed) who will capture the look, feel and tone of your company. We will then send you layout designs that represent what your website or campaign will look like. From there you may request tweaks or changes to the basic design.
After a design direction has been chosen and approved, it will be given to a web developer to turn from a static design to a functioning website.
Production and Testing
Once developed, your website will be thoroughly tested. We check every site in the top 3 browsers: Internet Explorer (6 and 7), Firefox and Safari. We check that the code validates according to W3C web standards and make sure there are no bugs in any database work or module installments.
Once everything checks out, and we have your final approval we move your site live.
Maintenance
Once the site is live, we again do more testing and watch for any feedback that may need our attention. It is important that a website stays maintained. Both users and search engines like updated content, so it is important to keep text and graphics fresh and give users a reason to keep coming back.
